By accessing and using the Mekaria Institute of Technology and Administration (MITA) portal at portal.mekaria.edu.ng, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our portal or services.
2. Description of Services
MITA provides an online portal for:
- Application for admission into various programmes
- Application fee payment and invoice generation
- Admission status checking
- Course registration and academic record management
- Fee payment and financial record management
- Student portal access for enrolled students
3. User Obligations
As a user of this portal, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and application
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
- Notify MITA immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Use the portal only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms
- Not engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the portal's functionality
- Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the portal or its systems
4. Account Registration and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. MITA cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with security obligations. You must ensure that any information provided during registration is accurate and complete.
5. Application and Admission
Submission of an application does not guarantee admission. MITA reserves the right to:
- Verify all information provided in applications
- Reject applications that contain false or misleading information
- Revoke admission offers if discrepancies are discovered
- Modify admission requirements and criteria at any time
- Limit the number of admissions based on available resources
6. Payment Terms
All fees paid through the portal are subject to the following conditions:
- Application fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated
- All payments must be made through the approved payment gateways (Credo, Remita)
- Users must ensure they obtain and retain payment receipts and transaction references
- MITA is not responsible for payment failures caused by third-party payment processors
- Any disputes regarding payments must be directed to the Bursary Department
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this portal, including text, graphics, logos, images, software, and course materials, is the property of MITA or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without prior written consent.
8. Limitation of Liability
MITA shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the portal. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of data, loss of profits, or service interruption.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MITA, its officers, staff, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the portal, violation of these terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
10. Third-Party Agents
If you are registering as a third-party agent on behalf of applicants, you represent and warrant that you have obtained the necessary consent from the applicants. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of information submitted through your account. MITA reserves the right to suspend or terminate agent accounts found to be submitting false or fraudulent information.
11. Termination
MITA reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the portal at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that violates these terms or is deemed harmful to the institution or other users.
12. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Nigeria.
13. Changes to Terms
MITA reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of the portal after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
